Feb. 16, 2010 | Nine organizations and six individuals have been selected to receive 2010 Governor's Financial Literacy Awards for their efforts to promote money management and financial skills among Wisconsin residents.

The winners were selected by Gov. Jim Doyle's Council on Financial Literacy.

Winners of the organizational awards include: Edgewood College, Madison; Educational Communications Board, Madison; Financial Education Center, Madison; Holmen School District, Holmen; M&I Bank Community Education, Milwaukee; Sokaogon Chippewa Community, Crandon; Summit Credit Union, Madison; UW Credit Union, Madison; and Wisconsin credit unions and the RP3 Project team, which includes the Wisconsin Credit Union League, the Puelicher Center for Banking Education at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business, Investor Protection Trust and Precision Information.

Winners of individual awards are: Gabrielle Banick, coordinator of career and technical eduction for the Madison Metropolitan School District; first lady Jessica Doyle; Lorrie Keating Heinemann, secretary of the state Department of Financial Institutions; Cathleen J. Hunt, instructor with Project Stay Senior Institute, Milwaukee; LaDonna Leazer, business and economics coordinator, Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee; and Meridee Maynard, senior vice president, Northwestern Mutual Financial Network.
